Punit Goenka is currently the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE). As a part of his journey, Punit has been the catalyst in taking the ZEE Empire to greater heights. Being a true visionary, Punit has an inimitable flair in identifying, evaluating and pursuing new business opportunities. One of the strong qualities of this young dynamic leader lies in his being a core team man, known to delegate responsibilities along with a hands-on approach to achieve the business objectives of the Organization.

Having grown up the ranks, handling various responsibilities across the Essel conglomerate, Punit has over 14 years experience with the Organization. Punit started his career with ZEE TV in 1995 as head of the Music division. His consistent achievements & innovative strategies saw Punit being bestowed with additional responsibilities across Essel Group Companies’. Punit serves as a Director of other Public Limited Companies such as: Essel Infraprojects Ltd., Essel Telecom Holdings Ltd., Rochan (India) Ltd., Zee Sports Ltd., Agrani Wireless Services Ltd., Agrani Satellite Services Limited, ASC Mobile Communication Ltd., and Diligent Media Corporation Ltd. He has also served as a Director of Dish TV India Ltd. since April 1, 1998 tilll January 6, 2007.

Circa 2004 was the turning point in Punit’s career, when he took charge as the Business Head of Zee TV. Thereafter, there was no stopping this self-motivated business leader. Punit was promoted as the Network Operating Officer (NOO) in 2005 and was made responsible for the Programming, Operations, Administration and HR functions of all Entertainment Channels of ZEE Network. In July 2008, soon after Punit took charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-ZEE, the Zee TV ratings grew by a whopping 30 percent. Under his astute leadership, Zee TV has made rapid progress into a leadership position among General Entertainment Channels (GEC) in India. Punit has also been working towards strengthening reach & viewership of the Zee Network internationally.

Punit has participated in various intensive Management Education Programs viz. Young Managers Program at INSEAD, France and a program on "Birthing of Giants" hosted by Young Entrepreneurs' Organization and MIT Enterprise Forum, Inc., Boston, USA.
