His strong work ethics and hands-on approach has been instrumental in steering the ZEEL Empire to new frontiers of success.

In 1995, Mr. Punit Goenka set off on an extraordinary, career-defining journey with the Essel Conglomerate. From heading the Music Division of Zee TV to taking charge as Director for a host of Public Limited Companies: Essel Infraprojects Ltd., Essel Telecom Holdings Ltd., Rochan (India) Ltd., Zee Sports Ltd., Agrani Wireless Services Ltd., Agrani Satellite Services Limited, ASC Mobile Communication Ltd., and Diligent Media Corporation Ltd. His consistent performance, innovative strategies and an inimitable flair for new business opportunities saw him move up the corporate ladder. He has also served as Director of Dish TV India Ltd., (Jan 2007 – April 2008).

The year 2004 was indeed the turning point in Mr. Punit Goenka’s career. Once he took charge as the Business Head of Zee TV there was no stopping this self-motivated team man. He was promoted as the Network Operating Officer (NOO) in 2005 and assumed full responsibility of Programming, Operations, Administration and HR functions of all Entertainment Channels of the ZEEL Network. In July 2008, soon after Punit took charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - ZEEL, the Zee TV ratings propelled by a whopping 30 percent. Under his astute leadership, Zee TV has made thumping progress to emerge as a leader among General Entertainment Channels (GEC) in India. Mr. Punit Goenka has an insatiable passion to achieve more, which is why he is now working towards strengthening the reach and viewership of ZEEL internationally.

Mr. Punit Goenka is not just a Corporate Leader but a great mentor too. He has shared his experiences and knowledge at various Management Education Programs. Young Managers Program at INSEAD, France, ‘Birthing of Giants’ by Young Entrepreneurs' Organization and MIT Enterprise Forum, Inc., Boston, USA to name a few. On the personal front, Mr. Punit Goenka is the eldest son of Mr. Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group. At leisure, Mr. Punit Goenka spends quality time with his family, enjoys watching movies and skiing.
