With the launch of a chic, stylish English General Entertainment Channel, it looked to have the young urban Indian segment on board. Over the last 9 years, it has succeeded in doing just that and has generated unprecedented viewer faith. Today Zee Cafe is one of the more widely viewed English channels in India.
Zee Cafe's direction has been much focussed from the word go. It always
promised to satiate the hip, young, cool college-goers' palate with the
best international content that he or she only read about in the papers

these shows into their lives, Zee Cafe generated a huge young fan base.

Aligning itself with the most happening international events, Zee Cafe's annual calendar boasts of mega events like the World Music Awards, The Emmys and leading fashion parades from across the globe. It has also in the recent past bagged exclusive telecast rights to events like 'Miss World 2008' and 'The Women World Awards 2009'. Still waiting to tantalise the viewers are the Victoria's Secret promotions that will be aired shortly.
As is the case every year, the year 2008 too has witnessed several Zee Cafe shows being picked up for nomination across various categories at the Emmys. 2008 has registered a whopping 4 shows viz. 'Survivor', 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Pushing Daisies', and 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' for nominations. An AOL poll conducted early in the year revealed that the top 4 shows on American television comprises of the primetime menu on Zee Cafe.
Having ensconced its identity firmly in the minds of viewers, Zee Cafe is now looking to leverage this goodwill into taking an initiative towards a greener earth.
